The title was chosen by my wife, so it is what it is.
This is my other entry into AAW's POP exhibit, "The Sphere A Second Turn".
The base is Avonite, a man made material that was, for a time, a competitor to Corian. i don't know if they are even in business anymore. I had several pieces sitting around and I glued a couple together for the base. Sphere and base just fit inside a 6x6x6 cube.
The sphere is maple and is finished with black acrylic paint, iridescent paints and a clear acrylic sealer.
The paints were applied to the piece and then I used a soda straw and my breath to move the paint around. The paint was thinned just a bit with water.
