More likely AOATT, a slightly less prevalent disorder, commonly found in Woodturners over the age of 55. Already Own All The Tools. Unfortunately turning tools are not like clamps and having more of the same beyond half a dozen or so, is no real help - you still have to stop and sharpen them all! (except for chucks, which ARE clamps).

Carve a precise cylinder - you will be back on the lathe shortly

I will be turning later today

spent the morning working on a firewood stacker. Once I get that done I have to move at least a dozen wheelbarrow loads. Then I'll quit that until tomorrow so I can work on the projects that need to be done.

First thing is a test on chasing threads. There was a thread on another sited talking about putting a negative rake on a thread chaser. I believe it was Alan Batty that teaches that. I've never reallly had any problems with my chasers that are all flat but thought I would try grinding one. It certainly won't hurt it I don't think. Anyway I'll post my results once I get that done.

I have one more Galaxy mirror to finish and then have to make a dozen to send to John C Campbell and need another 3 for other purposes.

Gotta go teach an art teacher how to photograph some flat work so she can do it herself. She used to bring it to us all the time but now that I'm gone she needs to set up lights and do it herself so I'll spend a little time on that.

somewhere in there I have to get ready for a texturing demo on the 2nd of Jan for the TAW in Nashville. I would like very much to work on a fine art project or two to take to the TAW symposium late January.

New directions for me, driven by; Grandson will be 1 year old the end of January, Rubbermaid tubs full of bowls and vessels in the "den", and new found love of bicycling. So actually looking at an update table saw (end of year tax burden reduction on turning profits) for building for the Grandson. His first woodworking bench should get built this year, and lots of wood toys and wooden toy tools for us to play with. 40% drop in local woodturning sales this year, so inventory will hold pretty well till next selling season except for some more ornaments will be needed. And already have that new mountain bike. So the rough draft of new year plans seems to be pretty well set for me.

I did a major shop renovation last summer and thought I had lost my turning mojo....Finished the renovation and right back on the lathe, Short breaks are good for the mojo.
