Here is a forum that gives a world of information on making duck calls. They are not as easy made as the article makes them to be.

When I scrolled down a little, there was a nice little project by the young Ellis W. from 1994, with a nice photo of him peering out. It made me think of that moment in "Dead Poet Society". ha

Out of curiosity, do you recall when you were first published?

I try not to look back, Keith. It's depressing to see how young I was in those bio shots. Black hair! Egad! I didn't start writing woodworking articles until 1992, when I joined American Woodworker, but I had more than a decade of marketing publications under my belt by then. I wrote and edited for a lot of other magazines after Rodale -- WWJ, CWB, FWW, Woodshop News, Woodworker West, others? Other than that, I was featured in a couple books and articles back in the 80s, but I wasn't the author. It's all fading in the rear view mirror now.

I try to look at "younger me" pictures from the perspective of, hey, just think of all the people who CAN'T look at their pictures since they are no longer with us...

Makes me feel better! Yippie, I just might make it through 2016. :-)

One of the sad things about running a forum is that when people disappear, you never really know where they went. I know we've lost quite a few of our online friends over the years. I miss 'em all.

We did yearly photos of the faculty for the school annual. We had one art instructor who came every year. She said the reason she comes is that she will look worse next year so want to record this year.

Don't like to think about it, but maybe an item in the notes to executors of our estates should be a list of forums and distant friends to notify.

Some may pause and some may cheer. :-) That reminds me of a sign I saw on an office door recently "Everyone brings joy to this office - some when they enter and some when they leave." Ha!
