Glad someone else answered this while I was away. I seldom ever mix brands or even types of finish if I can avoid it so I'm not the one to answer this type of question. Even though a lot of finishes can be used over each other I don't know the compatibility several years down the road. A lot of things seem fine when you first put them on but there aren't many references on the lifetime of the finish.
I have used poly over shellac in the past but since I didn't keep good notes I don't remember the brands.
