>When I first saw your subect line I thought that you were talking about noise induced hearing loss. I've been in construction for over 30 years. All the noise, mostly from power tools have taken a toll on my hearing.I'm not quite at the point that I need a hearing aid yet, but I'll probably need one in the future. I can't imagine how dificult it would be to learn being totaly deaf. I know that I already read lips some to help fill in words I miss. A lot of you use chain saws to prep yoour wood. Do your self a favor and wear some hearing protection when using chainsaws. They are very hard on the ears. Dust collectors, vacuum cleaners, routers, and table saws are all pretty loud also.I have both the peltor work tunes ear muffs and custom fitted ear plugs. I'm trying to save what is left of my hearing for as long as I can. Let us know how you make out on finding instruction you can undersand. Do you undersatnd ASL? I don't know if any of the symposiums use ASL interpeters. Does anyone out there know?
