Cherry Haul

Dave Peebles Lyons, Ohio!

>Hello everyone,

My friend Ken DeMarco and I spent a few hours this afternoon converting some really nice Cherry into turnable chunks to feed our turning addiction.

This was something Ken stumbled on a few weeks ago, and was kind enough to let me in on the score.

We hauled enough home to keep us both busy for quite some time.

My poor little S-10 was really feeling the weight on the trip home. :) But I made it home just fine. Thanks goodness it was still light out, or I surly would have been giving everyone the high beams all the way home.

It was a great day, hanging out with a woodturning buddy, and scoring some excellant stock to boot.

It just dosen't get any better than that!!

Best wishes,

Dave

>Can't you find any with a decent size? About all you can do with that is turn small wine classes. Maybe a thin vase or two.

Nice haul Dave.

Thanks

>It is some great wood. I gave a lesson today to a new turner so we had a chance to spin some.

She had never turned green wood before, so she had a great time making shavings.

Most of the wood is around 20" in diameter, and some pieces show some nice curl in it.

It look like a long day of roughing tommorrow..... can't waite to get to it. :)

Best wishes,

Dave
