Speaking of alcohol wrap

>Is it necessary that the wrapping material be porous? If it isn't, then I think an easier method of wrapping would be to use the kitchen type stretch material like Saran Wrap. I put a little alcohol on a piece of the plastic material and it didn't seem to dissolve. Has anyone tried it?
