Kids Prizes

Don Orr

>These are tops we give out to kids who put their names in a box for an hourly drawing at the NWA Showcase coming up in a couple of weeks in Saratoga, NY. Quite a show if you have never been. April 2& 3,2005. One of the biggest woodworking shows in the northeast, all done by volunteers.

The bodies are Teak, maple handles, collars either maple or mahogany. Starter handles are scraps of bocote and ebony.About 4" diameter.

Fun to make and even more fun to play with.

Those are pretty neat. Is the string trapped or piloted into a hole? What is the pin?

>Terry, the string is loose, not trapped. It has to be rewound each time. Easy though. The rod is a piece of steel I scavenged from some copier parts.

Thanks for looking, Don

>Thanks Keith, they're not as cool as yours though. I did steal the guide handle idea from you with the metal pin that comes out of the top.

It will be good to see you, it's been a while.

Take care, Don
