>This is a piece I made for a club challenge. The project was to make a lidded vessel with a removable insert with a secret compartment below. I wanted to make mine a bit different so I turned it with 3 sides. This is entirely turned with no carving or other modifications. Not a terribly hard thing to do really. The wood is unknown but may be purpleheart. The blank had a tag on it when I bought it from West Pen Hdwd, but it fell off. The insert I believe is Sapele and fits real nice so that when I set it in the box it slides down slowly and smoothly to the bottom. No finish, just buffed with tripoli. About 3.5" tall, 1.5 " wide.
