>I was in my garage today and noticed a length of PVC pipe. All of this tool storage talk motivated me to get up and do something. An hour later (I'm slow) I had this state of the art tool holder loaded on the end of my lathe.

Looking at it, I realized that next I needed the right tunes. I pulled out all of my favorite Zamfir cassettes (He's not available on CD yet) including live at Buddokahn, naturally, and became one with the moment. Damn, I'm starting to get misty..

>I agree fishing rods would be great. If you are going to keep puting lathe tools in them however, you might want raise the tubes a bit. A gap betweeen the bottom shelf and the tubes will give a space for shavings and sawdust come out. Of course if they get shavings in them you could vacuum them out. Hey! Mike do those bugs make good bait?

I know if I set up a tool rack like that, in short order some portion of my anatomy would hit the edeges those sharp chisels. The mental picture of me with my back turned squatting down beside the rack is painful.

>I have to agree. I saw the rack and thought of the cuts I would have on my hand from reaching for the tools. Makes me squeamish to think of falling on it. You need to put the pointy ends down and color code the handles or something.
