Totally Turning 2005 Symposium *LINK*

Don Orr

>Fellow Turners, I wanted to get this out early so you all could mark your calendars and make your plans for our 3rd annual woodturning symposium, Totally Turning 2005. The event is being held on Sat & Sun, October 15 & 16, 2005 in Albany, NY at the Empire State PLaza Convention Center. This year should be bigger and better than last year as we learned a lot and hopefully have made several inprovments.

Featured presenters include Stuart Batty, Nick Cook, and Andi Wolfe as well as regional and local demonstrators. There will be the usual Instant Gallery as well as tool, equipment and wood vendors and a dinner Saturday evening.

We hope that any WC'ers that went last year had a great time and will come back again and tell many others about our event.

There is a Shop Shot of TT2004 if you are a little curious.

For more information check out the link to the Symposium website below. It should be updated very soon if not already done.

Hope to see lots of WC'ers there!

Happy and safe turning, Don

I was there in 2004

>I really enjoyed it. You had some great demonstrators, I enjoyed the design workshop that Keith Tompkins and the retired ad exec (name forgotten) put on and of course Russ Fairfield was there.

It looks like a great lineup for '05 and I plan on attending again. I hope the food festival is there again!

>I was there, too, last year...and SO-O-O-O glad I went. I was blown away by the quality of presenters, variety of demonstrations, and great events. I will DEFINITELY plan to be there again this year and heartily recommend it to anyone who turns...no matter what your level of experience.

>Hi Don,

That sounds great, but that link seems to point to last years event. Am I wrong on this? Looking forward to see who will be there this year.

Best wishes,

Dave

>YUP, Don, I was there last year, and I'll probably come back in 2005. Not sure, however, that I will drive the 900 miles this time.

>Actually I didn't but we spoke briefly out near the vendors area. If you recall I inquired about your piece in "500 bowls" and we also spoke very briefly about natural edge work and the design workshop that you presented. BTW, it was worthwhile presentation and got the wheels turning.
