Canadian Hospitality experienced

Pete in Holland, MI

>A word of thanks to Steve Muschinski up near Pickering for inviting me to the wood turning club meeting in Pickering Ontario this past Thursday night. Dusty memory fails me now as to the name of the local guild, but there were about 40 people there. I am from Michigan and was up that way on business, and thru this site, Steve and I connected. I was introduced as a visitor and recieved a round of applause (never got such a thing just for just being some place). Talked with several folks, saw some great pieces of recent work from various members, and had a great time. Will have to look for such a group in SW Michigan now that I am home.

Many thanks to you guys on the other side of the Great Lakes for an enjoyable evening.

Pete LaBelle - Holland, MI

>Thanks for the kind words Pete. The group is called "The Woodturners Guild of Ontario" and we are also a Local Chapter of the AAW. We meet on the East side of Toronto. Anyone traveling through would always be welcome to visit.

Bill Grumbine Day in Pickering!!

Jim Shaver, Oakville Ontario

>Hi Steve,

I see by the club website that your turners club has lured "The Mr. Bill Grumbine" across the boarder! That will be a great day for your club.

I have been to Bill's a few times, I could recommend "a welcome for Bill" that would be fitting the first one he gave me!!!!!

:-)

Take care,

Jim

>I had no idea that they would be advertising me! I guess I had better start thinking of something to turn! (ha ha) Pete, your report is an encouragement for me, and I will look forward to seeing all of the folks up there in Canada in May.
