>Pete,

You're not looking very well and you need to take care of that cough before you spread it around the office. I think you had better go home and rest.

>Don't be like me. . . I couldn't get the face plate off my new 3520, and wound up breaking the stop collar. Later I found that the face plate had a set screw in it. Duh!!!!!

>Hi Pete

Congradulation, that is a terrific gloat! Be sure to come to the CAW symposium tomorrow so you can share your blessing with everyone and lean new tricks for use on that new lathe.

>Richard,

Is there a schedule for tomorrow?? I've got a mid term exam for a class that I'm taking for work. I should be done by 12:00 or 12:30 though and was hoping I could come up after. Will I miss all the good stuff if I arrive late??

>I couldn't FIND the faceplate on mine. Wasn't in the box of goodies, didn't fall off anywhere. Apparently wasn't shipped with the lathe. Didn't have the right size insert for my chuck at that point and boy was I upset that it was nothing more than furniture. Thought, well, maybe I can at least turn it on and listen to it spin when I noticed the faceplate was screwed on to the spindle.

>Pete, if you turn the color of your new lathe I bet they let you go home.

>Don't feel too bad. When I got my new Stubby 750 set up, I hit the start button and absolutely nothing happened. I had to call Bill Rubenstein in St. Louis. He told me to turn on the main power switch and try again. Luckily, he couldn't see my red face over the phone!

>About that "patience" thing. I had just had heel spur surgery when mine arrived so it sat in the garage for 2 months. Got it back to the shop and then had surgery on the other foot....another two months gone. Turned for a couple of months and had cataract surgery and just got back to turning last weekend. Am retiring on April 1 so I plan to play catch-up.
