>I'll be there with a bunch of little bugs. There is, as you probably know, a WOW dinner already planned on Friday night. I know it is limited to 90 people and at least 70 some have already signed up. I'd be surprised if you're not one of them, but I can't recall for sure.

Thanks

>Hi Mark,
I just now registered on-line. Thanks for the reminder. Definitely sign up for the WOW diner...it sounds like a blast. I hope to have something for the IG.....but who knows, this is my first Symposium, so I'm not sure if I'll have the nerve to put something out there. I can't wait to soak up the weekend. I can't imagine how fun this is going to be! It will be like sugar addicts at a Candy convention!

>Jen, if you don't show, you may as well not go.
Your work gets many plaudits here, and on WOW, if I'm correct, so why would you feel a bit intimidated to show your work there? In my experience, there are enough informed turners here to give you a good basis for comparison. You don't have to be John Jordan, or David Ellsworth to show what you can do. Remember, Andi Wolfe started just like you did.

>Doug Royer is coordinating it. It is somewhere in the news section on WOW. Hope to see you there!

>Jen,
Definately, Bring your work. It will stand up to the "Competition".
Having it there also gives you the opportunity to grab some famous woodturner that happens to walk by, and ask them to critique your work. Most will do it then and there.
I had the great opportunity to have Curt Theobald and Bud Latven (to of my favs) critique. Makes you feel good when the praise the good stuff, and makes you think when they point out opportunities for improvement. I think my work has improved 100% during the last 1.5 years when my work has been critiqued one-on-one by Bud Latven, Curt Theobald, David Nittmann, Cindy Drozda, Dale Nish, Ernie Newman, Nick Cook, etc, etc, etc.
Do it. People of all levels will be displaying.
Also consider donating a nice piece to the AAW Educational Fund Auction - you can get a good feel for how your work is accepted by your fellow turners by what it goes for in the Auction.

>Thank you Doug. Your post was very flattering :)
I suppose if I'm ever going to get my work out in the "open", this would be the place to do it.
