Grandmaws Cedar bowl

Jim Ketron

>Here is a cedar bowl I made for my grandmother she has had a cedar bedroom suite for as long as I can remember. When I ran across this nice size cedar log I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. It measures 8 1/4" X 2 3/4" soaked In Dave Smiths alky Method for 24 hours then I let it dry for 2 1/2 weeks.

Question, Jim

Wayne Cooper Charlotte NC

>Jim, That is a good looking bowl. I am sure your Grandmother will be proud.

The cedar trees that I cut generally have a lot of 'white' wood mixed with the red. Would that have any effect on the bowl or how it dries?? Is it better to just cut out the red???

Thanks Wayne Cooper Charlotte
