Thank you Dominic!

>Hi Dom,

I was having problems hollowing out a box because it had a thin stem towards the bottom, the harmonics were driving me nuts, then I came across your article of your 3 wheel steady rest and figured that might be my answer to my problems. I put it together with scraps that I had lying aroung and about a $1.00 worth of hardware. I had some roller blade wheels from my sons old roller skates lying around that worked quite well and with the smaller diameter wheels it was great for the Jet mini. Worked beautifully! Thank you my friend, you saved the day!

That's what I'm here for!

>Glad to hear it worked out well for you. Post a picture when you get a chance. I'm sure there are other Jet mini lathe users that wouldn't mind to see you adaptation of the design.

See ya around,

Dominic

I want the ones with lights!

>Hi Keith,

Now there's a fashion statement for ya! Green wheels, bright yellow lights!

I was just about to get those scooter wheels with the little centrifugally operated lights in them. I thought that they would look "so cool" in my steady rest. Until I realized what a distraction they'd end up being. I really don't need any more help with screwing up a bowl.

BTW, wait till you guys see what I just built for the "flat side" of my shop! A flip top tool stand for my planer and sander. Only, I went a little crazy on the design. I call it "Stand Zilla! (Note to self: Learning 3D Solid Modeling was supposed to make designing stuff easier. Not more complicated.) :>)

See ya around,

Dominic
