Gloat - I'm redecorating with a touch of Gold!

Pete (Stafford, VA)

>Good morning everyone! I ordered my new 3520 lathe about a week and a half ago and it should be arriving shortly. I'm trying to "create" room in my crowed 2 car garage/shop for it - what kind of space am I going to need to allow for??

>Pete, I have mine perpendicular to the wall and with a window right there for natual light. My back is against the garage door so when I can open the door it is a nice breath of fresh air and light. The bandsaw and vacumn are infront of the lathe and it is all very crowded. Try to give yourself a full half of a two car garage or you will be like me- - a safety hazard, walking or standing still. >Thanks Phil. I was hoping to have it up against the wall, but I think I too may have to put it perpendicular to the wall. Pete

>I just put mine in a 2 car garage. I put the lathe so that I can look out the door but I put it at a slight angle so if a bowl comes off it will hit the divider between the two doors instead of the door or window. I have my tool box just to the left of the headstock and my grinder just to the left of that on a stand. My lathe tools are going to be mounted on a raised stair type rack that will go around the tool box.
