>Hi,

Another neat pen from my last set. This is a dyed violet box elder with a CSUSA Statesman Kit. I have no idea why the wood absorbes the dye differentially as it does, but it really makes for some wonderful looking pens.

Take care,

Jim

>Thanks Jerry,

The wood is a stabilized box elder burl (Manitoba Maple eh!), it was dyed violet when I bought it.

>Jim, I have been enjoying the pictures of your pens, but not responded in the past. I think you do a super job with them. You make me want to try my hand at turning some, but someone said if your start with pens that will be all you want to do. I belive that because they said that about turning. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I enjoy looking at your work.
