Question for Mike in Cape May

Jim R

>In an earlier post you said you sell lots of wine stoppers and that you use the chrome style. Have you experience any problem with exposure to the wine causing oxidation or stainin on the stoppers? I want to make some but I was concerned about how the metal finishes would hold up. Thanks for any comments

>Hi Jim,

I've read posts in the past from at least one person here that says she or someone that she knows experienced the problem of which you speak.

No, I have not had that problem, not in those that I sell, the many that I have given as gifts or the several that I use often here at my home.

Nearly all of them have been from PSI. Currently I'm using several hundred that I purchased from Arizona Silhouette and Augum's and it's too soon to say. I can say that those from Augum's are identical to those from PSI, the hundred that I have from AS are similar and probably the same, however they come with the rubber/silicone gasket separate from the cone itself and require assembly so they may be from a different manufacturer.

Besides selling at shows I have four outlets that sell them for me, a gallery, a gift shop and two wineries, no complaints from them.

Perhaps that person had a bad batch, I don't know her source for cones; perhaps I've just been lucky, I don't know.

Wish that I could give you more.........
