Going Back To Arrowmont!

Jennifer@Indy.USA

>Hi Everybody,

Well I'm about to burst! I just firmed up plans to spend a week at Arrowmont this summer. My friend Betty Scarpino called me and asked me if I would be interested in being the assistant for her class in July. It took me a whole 2 seconds to answer that one. A few vacation days juggled here and there and poof! I'm heading to Arrowmont again! I can hardly wait. It's the week before the AAW Symposium in Kansas, so July will be wild with turning adventures!

If anyone is interested, the class is titled: "Investigating Form & Surface for Turned-Wood Objects" July 10-16

Ginning Ear to Ear in Indy!

It's About Time!

Jim Shaver, Oakville Ontario

>Hi Jennifer,

That is incredible news, but is bound to happen sooner or later, your work has been growing in leeps and bounds since you were last at Arrowmont. You have a chance now to pass along some of your learning too, watching some one else use something you have taught is a very empowering feeling, you will enjoy that and also that you are climbing the ladderYou are well on your way!

Let us know how it goes, I loved your photo essay from your first trip there, it was a great experience for you then and I trust this time will be even better.

Take care,

Jim

Good For You...

Wally Dickerman at Green Valley, Az.

>That's great Jennifer. You'll not only have a good time, but I'm sure that you'll learn a lot from Betty. What an opportunity!

Ask Betty if she can use a 2nd assistant.....

Congratulations. That should be a lot of fun. If you happen to driv by Cookeville, well actually Baxter,Tn stop in or call. I'd love to meet you. I'm on I 40 between Nashville and Knoxville. I think I told you that Betty Scarpino was one of the people that got me headed in the right direction. I haven't seen her since but I have followed her work. John

>Actually that invitation goes to anyone headed east or west on I40. I'm always glad to meet another woodworker. Cookeville is where everyone stops to eat between nashville and knoxville. I guess that will be our claim to fame.

>Hi Dick,

I'm also planning on going to the Ray Key day at Arrowmont. I haven't been very active in the Smoky Mountain Woodturners club the past few months, but I intend to change that behavior pattern.

But, I have been getting the newsletter and have seen your name on several very nice pieces.

I hope to see you there.

Gary

>Hi Jennifer,

You certainly should be excited about a trip back to God's country. Too bad you have to go to Gatlinburg to get there. 8^]

I'm about an hour and a half south of G-town. Give me a holler if you'd like to take some Smoky Mountain hardwoods back to Indy with you, and I'll haul some up your way while you're in town.
