Thanks Dave Smith. Alder bowl

>Here is a natural edged Red Alder bowl, 14.5 by 8 inches which was a tree a month ago. I rough turned it to 1 inch walls, soaked over night, wrapped as Dave outlined, and dried for a week. Then returned to final thickness of 1/4 inch, rewrapped the bottom and soaked again over night and dried two weeks before finishing.

Dave gave a presentation to out group this week in Bremerton, WA. He deserves a lot of appreciation for his tireless research.

Thanks to the Olympic Peninsula Chapter-AAW

>Hi Rodger,

Thank you for suggesting to your club that I be invited to give a presentation about the alcohol drying process. I was made most welcome by your members and guest. This was the first formal presentation I have done and I appreciated the patience the people gave me. Your club has some very gifted turners as evidenced by your alder bowl.

FYI, I got home at midnight. I wasn't worth must Thursday but who could tell?
