I've built 2. I built my first one and it was too poorly made. It worked but was hard to adjust and just didn't look very good. Everyone knows your tools need to look good to work good. (: Anyway when Bruce Hoover wrote the article in American Woodturner I built one of his, slightly modified for my uses. It works very well and is really easy to build. I don't know where my boring bar is in my new shop, still in a box I guess but I can probably dig out the lazar rig. I have to shoot a ball game tonight so I won't be home till late. If someone hasn't posted a photo before then I'll shoot it and post it.

>Hi Anthony
I asked about laser hollowing tools a little while ago, which generated a very spirited discussion. I did not end up building one, but I am now the proud owner of one made by Randy Privett of www.monster-wood-tools.com fame. I just received it last week, and have not yet had a chance to put a piece on the lathe to play with it, but it is the super duper model - torque arrested, laser guided, with numerous tips for different cutting situations. It is very well made, and I hope to get it on the lathe soon so I can put up some pictures both of it and the results of using it.

I found one at Office Max. It was the kind that is used at meetings as a pointer.

>Hi Anthony
You are right, and I should have mentioned that he does not have laser systems pictured on the site, but all I did was tell him what I wanted, and he was already building them, so it was no problem.
Randy, if you are reading, do you have any pictures of the rig that you made for me (besides the component ones you sent?)
Back to Anthony, I will try to get some pictures of it today while I am up in the shop and get them posted.
