I'm Off!...to Philly

Keith Tompkins

>I leave tomorrow for Philadelphia, where the Winter Buyer's Market for Craft is to be held. Each year during the event, the winners of the Niche award are announced.

The Niche award is given out in recognition of outstanding achievement in American and Canadian craft. All fields are represented; glass, pottery, metal, etc. This year I am fortunate enough to be a finalist in the category "turned wood". There are four finalists in each category, with the winners to be announced on Saturday.

I'll let you know how I did at the awards ceremony....wish me luck! Keith

Several of the artists I shoot for have made into the Niche awards. I haven't heard if any of the students at the craft center are in the running this year. `I wish you the best of luck. I always enjoy looking at the winners in the mag. John

>BEST OF LUCK, Keith!! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Please let us know as soon as you hear anything! Just to be in the same category with the other finalists and just to be considered for the award makes you a winner already, regardless of the final outcome!

Regards,

Joe
