>I turned the first holly bowl yesterday and soaked it for 20 hours. It drained for 1 hour and I wrapped the outside with Kraft paper. Since I couldn't get to Dave's article this morning I am not sure about the details of wrapping.
I put the paper around the outside of the bowl and secured with tape.
Does it matter if the paper folds over the rim and the bottom? I have the bowl turned upside down on an old oven rack.

Sounds like you have everything else correct, with the wrapping and taped around the exterior rim to hold the paper tight. Good luck with the Bowl. I have had nothing but excellent results with Dave's method.

If the paper is folded over the rim, how can it be up? There is something I am not understanding. :-)

I meant to make sure the paper is folded over the Bowl Rim, and set on the drying rack with the interior of the bowl facing down. "Bottoms up" as they say! ;-) Just ensure good air movement is allowed to the inside of the bowl. You mentioned a drying rack, so I think you have that covered. Sorry about the confusion!
