Two very fine turners and teachers will be demonstrating together on Saturday, Feb.26 from 9am until 4pm at the Artisans Center of Virginia. Mark St.Ledger and Bob Rosand will be side by side for what is going to be a great day of turning, teaching and fun! I will personally act as monitor (referee) if things get out of hand...when these two guys are together, you never know what might happen!

This demo is being offered by the Central Virginia Woodturners, here in Waynesboro.

Cost for the event is $15, and we are working on providing some kind of lunch.

The Artisans Center of Virginia is located right off of Interstate 64, Exit 94.

Hope to see you there!

>We have a friend who lives 3 hrs from the symposium, and I think I can stay there and cut the drive lengths into managable sections. Do you know if advance reservations are necessary for the demonstraton?

I haven't a clue

>I'm sitting over here in Cape May NJ debating whether to drive over there. Good demonstrators and the price sure is right.

>This isn't a symposium, just a club meeting with two great demonstrators. The Artisans Center was the location of the Virginia Symposium this past November, and plans are under way for our next one in 2006.

It looks like we will have some sort of lunch provided, so an approximate head count will help. It would be fantastic to meet all of you from WoodCentral; we have plenty of room!

I'll post a reminder with any more updates later this month.

If you are thinking of staying the night, there are plenty of hotels within sight of the Artisans Center. Information can be found on the Symposium website.

>I'm with Bert, this is not a symposium, but a club organized demo. from 9:AM till 4:00 PM open to all for $15/head. With Bob Rosand and Mark St.Leger both there, you'll get your money's worth the first 5 minutes then the rest of the show is free. Come on down.

Re: I just used Mapquest.

Al Crandall

>When I want driving times, I just enter the starting city and state, and the destination city and state. You don't have to get very detailed with the info to get an approximation. Baltimore to Waynesboro is 3 hrs. 23 min.
