1&1/4-8TPI bolt available??

>I need to adapt my carving vise to accept my chucks and faceplates. Does anyone know of a bolt, plumbing fitting or anything else that has a male part of 1&1/4" diam and 8 TPI. I'll weld glue or nail the darned thing to the end of the 3/4 inch rod.??

>Unfortunately, the standard thread (plumbing) for a 1 1/4" bolt or nut is 7 TPI. 8 TPI is an odd-ball.
If you live in or near an urban centre look in the Yellow Pages under Industrial Fasteners and start phoning. Make sure whomever you talk to understands you require 8 TPI, because they'll often focus on the 1 1/4, assume you're asking for the standard bolt, and say "Sure, got lots of
'em". But they more than likely don't.
An earlier thread indicated that McMaster Carr has them in the catalog.
