>Has anyone seen the Laguna lathe? I was at the Chicago Wood show and was talking to Steven Russell. He was turning on a laguna lathe and is that thing a monster. It looks like a converted metal lathe. Huge ways with no gap, 3hp motor, can be converted into a gap bed lathe with 4 ft diameter capacity, huge tailstock and banjo as well as massive spindle. If you get a chance to get an upclose and personal with this machine take it. It looks like a real winner for a lot of pros, but it has a high price tag 7-8k. MP Wall

>I saw one at the SWAT last Oct. A lot of "way over kill" in my opinion. And way over priced.

>HI MP, I saw one at our Totally Turning symposium. Massive except for the belt drive system. It looked rather puny. I'd like to see either a two belt setup,a wide ribbed belt, or maybe even a cog-tooth belt. Other wise, it seemed like a great machine. Their bandsaws are impressive also.
