>Anyone used the Bubble Visor from CUSA? Says it has an antifog coating on it and I am wondering if it works. I must be full of hot air cause I cannot use a face shield without the thing fogging up. The one I have does not fit well, even though it is adjustable. It's $13 type.

>This is going to sound gross. Spit on the inside and rub it around like the skin divers do. Helps if you don't think about what you just did.

>LOL I am a scuba diver and have done that many times! I just don't like the idea of spitting on my face shield for some reason. When we did it to the diving mask, we then gave it a quick rinse before putting it on!

>Best antifog I have had for diving is a thin soap mix. You might wash with liquid soap and lite rinse it. Also I find that if I put my visor back one notch it vents a whole lot better. You can also put a small fan directed in the general direction of you visor so it gets enough airflow to take the moist air from your exhalations away from the visor. MP Wall

>I now use a Delta Face Shield. The bubble shield did not work for me. It fogged up big time. I even tried removing the lower bubble part, that made the whole thing worst.

>I can't help on the bubble visor, but one of the tricks I use when I play paintball in the hot humid VA summers is to get one of those little square fans used as CPU coolers (the 12V ones) and power them with a 9V battery. It moves enough air to keep the mask from fogging.

For turning I usually wear a 3M half mask filter (a 6000 series I think it is) under the face mask. I haven't had any fogging problems with that combination yet.

Now if I could find a way to keep the darn face mask clean! I seem to destroy them pretty rapidly somehow.

>To prevent fogging try a sports store that sells hockey equipment - the spray that prevents fogging on hockey visors works well. Heck, maybe a hockey helment and half visor will do the trick vs. the bubble visor.

I often turn with a chain saw helmet, the kind with the screen visor, and safety glasses. A little stress on the neck due to the weight of the helmet but great air circulation (i.e. no fogging). Someday I'll get a positive pressure mask.

I use used dryer static sheets. Just wipe it inside and out. It reduces the static so dust doesn't stick and seems to reduce fogging somewhat.

>By CUSA, do you mean Crafts USA? I have it. It came with instructions on a sheet of paper that said trying to clean the antifog coating with liquid would ruin the shield. Well, I found that the antifog coating attracted dirt and got to the point that the shield was almost unusable. Feeling that I had nothing to lose, I held the shield under a garden hose with a low flow of water, and gently rubbed the antifog coating off with my fingertips. It was easy and just took a few minutes. The shield is now clear and I've had no trouble since. I like it.
