40 FOOT RIVER DROP FOR RUTH

>Ruth: My wife and I lived on a tributary of the Amazon for three years and the top photo shows the river at its lowest in October. Up in the right hand corner you can see our house on the hill and the bottom photo is in June when the water was an inch under our floor. The house was on four foot stilts, luckily.

Yes , the stairs were a yearly problem. It was a fun experience but three years in the jungle was enough.
