Partly segmented Zig Bowl

>Thanks to Mark Kauder's excellent posting on making zig-zag segmented patterns, I finally got around to trying it. This was my first attempt at segmented bowls, so I only tried to put one segmented ring in. It was supposed to be a zig-zag but I miscalculated and made the ring too narrow, so it ended up just "zigging".

Thanks for looking,

Bob Achenbach

>Whether it's zigging or zagging, it sure is purty! This is a lovely bowl Bob. Nice job.

>Thanks Jim & Molly. I think if I had it to do over again the foot would be smaller and the diameter where the accent ring resides would have a larger radius, but I was too excited to see how it would look when finished.

>Hi Bob,

Love your lack of zagging actually. I like the flow of the zigging. It really looks very lovely. Glad I scrolled down the page tonight!

>Segementing looks very good. I like the bowl for the most part. The wood combinations are great, and the finish is beautiful.

Personally, I would have continued the side curve down to a small foot, but to each his own.

Keep Up the good work.

Mark

>Thanks for your "critique" Mark. I agree with you and if I had it to do again the foot would be smaller. Also I would make the radius larger (less sharp) at the level of the segmented ring.
