>What a weekend I had!
Hands-on one-on-one lesson with Wally Dickerman, not to mention the wonderful hospitaly of his wife, Jane.
Learned bunches. Turned two bowls. I'll post the pictures later. One needs a little more work.
The downside?
Now I need to buy a lathe.
Anybody got one for sale?

A day with Wally was my Christmas present to myself. I augmented it with a second day because he was teaching at the Tucson Woodcraft store on Saturday.
I had the pleasure of meeting him at Sophie's BBQ last summer and he spent several hours teaching me there as well.
Now I know tons more about lathes, tools, etc. All super important lessons before spending a dime! Now I hope to make some intelligent and informed purchases.
My first tool will be a bowl gouge, maybe two. Well, a lathe to use it on is on the list, too. ;-)

>As I expected from a skilled woodworker, Carol did very well. On Friday she turned a bowl on my left-handed Nichols lathe, and on Saturday she turned a bowl on a standard right handers lathe. We can expect big things from Carol soon.
