Thunderbird hollow

Molly Winton

>This is what happened when I went, "Hmmmmm, what should I do next?" I had about 1 1/2 hours left of shop time yesterday, looked around and found this redwood blank. Tossed it on and as I was cutting away my mind wandered into this general design. I wanted an image that would envelop the piece, but not look as if it had a gaping hole in it's middle. The Thunderbird is burned and colored with Prismacolors. It's 5"x3", and finished with Danish oil. It's freshly finished, so when the oil dries it won't have the sheen.

>I really like that. Nice form, and the design really sets it off. Did you really do the whole thing in an hour and a half?

>Molly,

You have such a great variety in your designs. We never know what to expect next! I think that is just fantastic. I love this form and the burning is great. Thanks for the inspiration!

>Thanks Graeme, I turned it in 1 1/2 hours, but the burning took me about 8 hours.
