Lessons in South Jersey

John Foley

>Hi all,

I am just getting started in turning and am looking for some lessons to help me on my way. I live in South Jersey. By South Jersey I mean pretty much as far south as you can go ( exit 10 on the Garden State Parkway ). I have read some books but I am a much better learner when I can have someone there to point out the flaws in my turning. Thanks for any help.

>Don't know how far you are from Kutztown PA, but I would check out Bill Grumbine for one on one at the most reasonable price you will ever see...

Check out his website... I would also recommend his new DVD on bowl turning..

>Thanks Tom,

I have been reading Bill's site for a while as well as following his posts here. I'am probably 2 1/2 to 3 hours away from Bill depending on the traffic. There is no doubt that I would like to spend time learning from Bill. I just have to figure out how to make the time for the trip.

Thanks again

John

William Duffield, on the Cohansey

>First State Wood Turners, recently organized, meets at the Woodcraft in New Castle, DE, first Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. There are several of us from Cumberland and Salem County who go. Cape May county might be a bit too far, but you would probably meet a few turners who live closer to you, and would be glad to help you out. I'm a half hour south of NJTP Exit #1, and Bill Grumbine's is at least two hours from here, in the wrong direction from you.
