Drill Press Disassembly Question

Drill Press Disassembly Question

Charlie Anderson in Southern Maryland

>I bought a HF drill press which had a few issues. HF has sent me new parts, but I'm not sure what to expect when I disassemble it.

I'm replacing the hub-pinion (according to the parts list) to which the handles attach. It goes through the press where there's a torsion spring. The 'spring' consists of 4 parts. How do I safely disassemble it and correctly assemble it?

Thanks

>Thanks Robert. They do look about the same so I'll give it a try. I'll just do the opposite to loosen the spring so I can safely remove it.
