Did any of you see my knock out tool?

>LOML decided to give me a hand and clean up my shop. Now I can't find anything.

I didn't think it was messy. Gheez, I cleaned up the shop right after Thanksgiving, I could of lasted a few more weeks.

>Ron....your knock-out tool is probably at the city dump, rusting away in a myriad of decaying vegetable scraps, meat trimmings, nasty kleenex and a host of other decaying slimey matter. Get some drill rod, turn a handle/knob and you are back in business. Factory replacements are too expensive. Ban LOYL from shop and in return, tell her you will stay out of the kitchen.

>Not only do they 'clean up' for you but you can never find anything afterwards. Then while you're frantically looking for something she finds it, reminding you that she alwys has to find things for you and cluck this mantra to her friends, too. I think these are basic marriage survival techniques taught on venus to make you think they are needed.

I have finally learned how to read women like a book, the only problem is is that my library card has expired. =O)

>Ron,

Look by that cabinet next to your workbench...second shelf...No a little more to your right...right there behind the buffs.

>In the 15 years that I have had a wood shop, this is the first time she "Helped" me clean up.

The funny part is when I tried to explain what a knock out tool looks like she showed me a philips head screw driver.

>Obviously "a failure to communicate!" I can't believe LOYL would even go near your shop area- I know LOML wouldn't! Maybe you should clean up her kitchen, but on second thought, getting even is not a recipe for a smoooooth marriage- just forget I mentioned it!

>Hi all,

I'm the SWMBO of a woodturner...I would NEVER think of straightening up my husband's shop...(although I often wonder how he finds anything). I consider that room off limits, except to visit.

Just a question though. Do all of you woodturners leave all of the woodshavings in the shop or do you have this need to bring them into the house...is it a "closeness" thing? Separation anxiety?

>The reason we can find things is because we remember where we place them. I always say "A clean desk is a sign of messy drawers"

BTW - I'm not upset she cleaned up my shop, she was trying to help me.

As to the wood shaving thing, yes I shed wood and my wife calls me Grampa Munster when I come up from my basement shop.

>"I'm the SWMBO of a woodturner..." WELCOME !!!

"I would NEVER think of straightening up my husband's shop...(although I often wonder how he finds anything). I consider that room off limits, except to visit. " I UNDERSTAND. SOME THINGS I KNOW WHERE TO FIND. SOME I DON'T !

"Just a question though. Do all of you woodturners leave all of the woodshavings in the shop or do you have this need to bring them into the house...is it a "closeness" thing? Separation anxiety? " IT IS PURELY UNINTENTIONAL. NO MATTER HOW CAREFULLY I BRUSH MYSELF OFF, SOME SHAVINGS GET INTO THE HOUSE.
