>One last thing, as for my "constantly putting down" AS, if you read my post below you'll see where I said that "dealing with Bill by phone was great". What this is all about is my voicing my opinion about having to wait 12 days for delivery of a product and having my credit card charged nearly triple what I was quoted without me being asked if that was okay and about my having found the same product elsewhere at a significantly reduced rate, which I would think might be of interest to others. Of course perhaps Augum will quote me a shipping price and then later nearly triple it without my authorization, if that happens I'll let everyone know. Where I come from it's acceptable for people to voice legitimate gripes, maybe that's not the case with you. At any rate I'm not going to expend any further time or energy on this. Enjoy your day and I hope all is well.

Different perspectives, different opinions...

I cannot speak for AS, never having used them, and they may be the best thing since sliced bread, but as a happy customer of Berea I must comment here.

Berea has always been good...no, great, to deal with. They provide an excellent product at a good price. As a matter of fact, if you buy pen, bottle stopper, fan pull, etc. kits from Woodcraft and any number of other suppliers you are simply paying extra for the other supplier to handle Berea's product for you as they and PSI are the 2 big mfrs of said parts and most other suppliers simply buy from them, re-package, and ship it on to you.

I typically order from them through their 800 number and regularily have my order 2 days later if I order before 3PM EST.

They are patient, efficient, and will answer question after question without getting in a rush. When I started turning pens Larry basically taught me how to make them over the phone...all for an initial order of 5 kits, a mandrel, and a bushing set.

Reading back through this thread I cannot find mention of Berea ANYWHERE until the gratuitous slap, complete with ad hominum denigration, that my message is in response to.

If they weren't the subject of the thread, having no dog in the fight concerning shipping times/costs from AS, I wonder why the out of the blue attack was necessary.....
