>There is an Orig Nova chuck for sale, it is 50.00, but may go up in auction, it has all the orig items with it, have to purchase insert for my lathe, I am still in market for a 2nd chuck, would this fit the bill?...I have been wanting a SN2 but not wanting to shell out the $$$...any opinions on the Orig Nova, and what is the max. I should spend on it?...thanks for the input..Dennis

>Many of us used the original Nova quite happily for years, but the technology has advanced significantly since it first came out, and it is out-performed by all the more recent chucks. The good news is that all Nova jaws fit all Nova chucks EXCEPT, I believe, the Compac.
I wouldn't pay more than $50 for an original in perfect condition that already had an insert to fit my lathe.
