>Just a quick note to help get a decent discount on a utility chuck.

Penn State Ind. has discontinued their Utility 4-Jay Chuck Item# C3418 and have replace it with one that comes with (2) sets of jaws and is listed on the back page of the new catalog and lists for $79.95 Item # CUG3418

If you call and attempt to order the discontinued Item # C3418, they will offer you the new Item # CUG3418 for $59.95 ($20 off). (It can be used with either 3/4"-16 or 1"-8 spindles)

Thought I'd let you guys know about this "secret" special offer on a cheap chuck.

I do not work for this company, just thought I'd pass on some discount info. for y'all!

>Does anyone have any experience with this chuck they would like to elaborate on? Is it worth the money or is it an overpriced paperweight?

Thanks,

>Carol

I just ordered one of the Grizzly chucks that looks like a vicmarc chuck. The curiosity got to me and I had to have one. It's back ordered and won't be here for about 3 weeks. I'll report on it when it comes in. I can't believe it would be as good as the vicmarc but at $89 if it's any good at all it will be useful

>I have not used this chuck, I have a Nova.

The only Chinese chucks I have are for my small metal lathe. The 3" chucks are in the $50 range, and they are beautiful precision jobs that leave nothing to be desired.

>Grizzly has excellent customer service, and will stand by what they sell if there are any problems. No affiliation.

I just ordered the Grizzly chuck too. I'll also post about it when it comes in. Supposed to be only two weeks for delivery. I hope! LOL

>I ordered it and since the price was knocked off, I ordered the Large Flat Jaws as well. It is not due to ship until this coming weekend, but I'll post my findings on this chuck.

I was on the fence about the Grizzly, but when PSI offered me a discounted price, I took it.

>I have used this chuck for two dozen projects over a year. And IMO its a great entry level chuck, you cant beat the versitility and experiance from it for the price. This being said I just bought a vicmarc this past weekend. But I still use the PSI with the little jaws for small stuff. It works and has done well for me and three others that I know who use them. Ill answer any questions anyone has. I have no affiliation to PSI, just enjoed the chuck at a very reasonable price.
