mesh sandpaper

>For the last year or so I've been using a mesh sandpaper, similar to drywall sandpaper, to sand really oily woods. I'm running out of the samples I got and want to buy some more. Do any of you know where to get it. My local stores only sell the drywall vaiety and it only goes from 120 to 220.

I've been searching the internet and found a brand calle Mirka Abranet. They make discs for your orbital sander up to 600 grit. I can't seem to find the company to find out if they sheets or if I really got lucky 3" or 2" discs. I'll keep searching as time allows today.

>Hello John,

Over here in the UK Abranet is available in sheets so I would guess it is available to the rest of the World.

I cut 2" and 3" discs out of the larger sheets, a very good product.

Regards....Mike

>Thanks Mike and Russ. Since I'm moving this weekend and all my catalogs are in a box somewhere in the new house I'll have to wait to look but I have a Penn State catalog.

Life was simpler when I was in college and you could move everything you owned in a Ford Falcon. Gas was also 23 cents a gallon back then as well.

>Most refrigeration and plumbing supplies sell mesh sandpaper in 1.5" rolls for sanding copper tubing. It is available in one fairly coarse grit though. Twenty-five yards for about $10.00.
