Oak Vase

>I finished this vase last year for the wife to
use as a flower vase. She wanted a wood vase to
put in the tall clock i made for our house. Its
white oak and padauk with a zig zag pattern in
the upper part. I finished it with shellac 4
coats then a couple of coats of minwax antique
oil finish. I am going to post a photo of the
clock and the vase that goes in it. The vase is
9" tall and 6.5" round in the middle.

>Both the vase and clock are beautiful. I'll bet your wife is real happy. The only complaint I have is that the vase is so beautiful but mostly hidden in the clock! :-) Many segmented turnings,IMHO, are too busy...almost like the "you can't see the forest for the trees"... but this one is perfect.
