Fer you POO-lan poo-poo'ers...

BubbaBob

>...For you folks that make fun of my POO-lan and tout the excellence of other brands, especially Husky, you might find this interesting.

I was at a Husky dealer/shop today and there, on the floor of the shop, were 5 Huskys that looked practically new...not all scratched up...paint on the bars was not scratched either. I asked the technician if he was prepping them for sale and he almost fell over laughing. It turns out that of the new (last 6 months or so) Huskys they have sold, 90% have come back for repair within 30 days. ALL of them had the electronic ignition module crap out. As long as they are that new and under warranty, it's a free fix...but...BUT...so many have been going out that Husky cannot deliver on repair module for THREE MONTHS...and after warranty expires it's gonna be a $150.00 repair...whoo ha, Go Husky....

Nah...I'll just stick with my POO-lan...junky thing gets tired easy...it only cut 5 cords of firewood yesterday...

This is strange

>Where I work, Husky ignition modules are guaranteed for life. It's a pain to have to get them replaced of course, but not $150 worth of pain. And I have to say that I haven't seen all that many needing replaced. Why should ity be so different where you are, I wonder?

How long is your firewood?

TD

>Bubba, the only way you could cut 5 cords of firewwod in a day with a Poland is to cut it tree length.

The guy that sends me my burl

Mike Schwing from Md.

>Says his workers prefer Huskys because they run more powerfully, but they won't take a beating like a Stihl will. He said he can tell within one day how a guy uses a saw when it is returned. If the guy breaks a Husky, he gives him a Stihl the next day, and he doesn't break the Stihl. He did make reference to "those POS Poolans" though.

Hey Bubba need a new bar?

David Sophusson, Custer Wa.

>I was doing some shop cleaning in the automotive part of my shop and came across a brand new bar still in the box. I dont remember where I got the darn thing or why but the box says it will fit Poulans which made me think of you. Its an Oregon Power Match or Power Pro or something, 20 inch, 3/8 pitch. It wont fit my Stanley hydraulic or Stihl saws. Poulan saws 415-425 seems to ring a bell but Ill check tonight for the exact specs if youd like. Hey, if it works, well Merry X-Mas!

My dooah-yahd is...

BubbaBob

>...over a thousand miles north...LOL

I actually did have the car on blocks thing going one time. I owned a house that was in Gwinnett Co, GA, at the time one of the 10 fastest growing counties in the US. The house was an old farm homestead in the last rural part of the county. My neighbor, a farmer, died and his kids started talking about selling the farm (they were greedy and had moved to the city years before so the land meant nothing to them).

Well, when the inevetable began to happen and they were about to close with a developer who was going to put in a subdivision with half acre lots and 300K homes, I went to the developer and suggested he might want to buy me out. He declined because my house was across the street from the soon to be his land. I told him he would buy me out at MY price before it was all over.

Land sale went through, and development began. As soon as roads were in and houses started and it was too late to change plans, with the entrance to the hoity-toity gated community directly across from my house, I quit cutting the grass, hauled in two rusted out cars and a rusted out pickup from the junkyard, put all three up on blocks, and spent each day sitting in my lawn chair in my bib overalls, in the yard, watching the goings on, drinking beer (and throwing the cans in the yard instead of the trash).

The developer held out longer than I expected, but on day 11 he came over and said he would buy me out and give me x dollars for my place (about 10% higher than what it was worth). I told him that would have been fine when I offered to sell, but now my bottom dollar was 3x, and I asked how well he expected his houses to sell with a drunk redneck yelling hello to everyone coming to look at houses, and the pile of beer cans growing daily (I was hauling in a trash bag a night from a friends bar to add to the pile).

Three hours later he was back...with a contract and binder check. The amount was 3x plus $10.00 just to be sure he wasn't short so I'd go up again.

Funny thing...he became a friend and comes up here to the mountains every month or so and LOML and I have dinner with he and his wife...but I have to remind him occasionally what happens if he even LOOKS at the land across from me...
