Absolutely gorgeous... I have never seen that kind of combination of spalt and solid color before...

Do you sell in the US and if so would you give us information on what you have. A website address would be nice... or email me at oldgriz@oldgriz.biz...

>I hate to do it to you because you're probably getting quite a list by now but I loved the looks of that spalted bloodwood (of course the shape and finish of the piece made it all that much more attractive) so I too would like to be on your list of folks to contact.

thanks for taking the time...

>Absolutely stunning piece. The combination of the color of sapwood and the spalting makes me think that it is actually marble or other type of stone. I would love to see other pieces of this type. I love the pieces where the heart and sapwood combine to mke it something more than justa plain bowl or vessel.

And to sound like a broken record here, I wouldnt mind getting info as to how I could get some of this type of wood. I love the red woods and bloodwood is one of the favorites.

>Jim--great piece...the wood's coloring is similar to a piece of "mystery wood" in my collection ...cough...pile/mound...cough. By any chance does that wood have a very strong peppery scent? thanks vince

Jim King-Iquitos,Peru

>Vince: It is nothing more than bloodwood that was cut a few years ago or more and the limbs are left in the jungle and we search them out and collect and sort them. The red heart wood takes up to 50 years to spalt but the sap wood is only a couple of years to five years to get this figure..
