>I couldn't find much info online, but a company by the name of Tradewinds out of Grafton, VT was a vendor at a woodturning symposium that I attended in Derry, NH a few years ago. They seemed to have some pretty nice wood, including some exotics for what I thought were relatively reasonable prices. A web search turned up this contact info: Dave Muelrath, 2931 Route 121 East, Grafton, VT (802)-843-2341, trade@vermontel.net. I'd probably recommend calling ahead - I have never been to the place, but I got the impression that it was in this guy's barn behind his house, but it might be worth checking out...

>Hi Jorge,

I actually live in Springfield. Unfortunately, I am going to pick up a new 6" belt/12"disc combo sander in Lebanon, NH tomorrow. I'll be back by around 3-5 PM, so if you want, give me a call (885-1891) and you would be welcome to come a see my shop. I'm just getting back into some turning after a year and a half spent building my house and shop.

The Grafton folks are most definately the best source of wood you will find in the area. I bought some very nice exotics from them at the Totally turning symposium. They offer fair prices and are very nice folks. My impression after talking with them is that they are mostly in the wholesale business and have a fairly extensive inventory of woods from all over the world. They did ask me to call before I go over to be sure someone will be able to help out. I have not been there yet, but I can imagine that it is a real candy store for wood guys. Take your checkbook. credit cards and a trailer to haul it in.

>Hi Mike,

Thanks for the hospitality, I will give you a call when there, as plans may change and end up not going.

Thanks for the warning about Tradewinds! : )
