>I have a Poulan Pro 300E electric chainsaw that I need to sharpen. Can anyone tell me what size file I need to sharpen it? It has the stock chain.

I'm thinking 7/32"?

Any feedback would help.

Thanks, and a belated merry christmas to all.

>I ran into this same problem a couple of years ago as I have both and electric and a gas saw. Seems to me the local dealer wasn't even sure what chain I should be using, I came home in disgust. I called Oregon chain the people that manufacture 99% of the chains, there was an toll free number on an old chain box that I retained the last time a bought a chain. The girl there couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, she informed me what chain should be on each saw as well as what files I should be using.

>For that saw, Oregon says it needs a 4.5mm file, so 5/32" should work fine. Set the rakers to 20 thou. If you have the #90 printed on the drive links you have oregon chain on now.

Any suggestions for a file size?
