Here's my nested experiment

KurtK in Indy

>Well...I've finally taken a picture of the nested burl cap bowls I made with my Kelton center saver system and learning how to do it from the Mike Mahoney DVD.

I'm happy with the result, although there are a couple of the bowls that have the bottoms a little thin. I really like the randomness of the bowls and the way they look when they are all in a nested display.

I'm not real sure how to display them other than like in the picture on the right. They just don't have the same impact set next to each other.

Thanks for taking a look and I think I'll be doing more of these. They're fun and very interesting to look at!!

All comments and critiques are greatfully accepted.

Kurt

Beauties!

>Hi Kurt,

These look great! I'm not sure how much control over the shape you have the coring tool? But the shape of them looks really nice! I like them stacked too. They all belong together.

Beautiful!

Hey that is a great job. I have used it some but all I can do is make thick roughouts.

Just curiouser ..

>What do you do with these. I think they are really neat, but do they have a purpose other that "art"? Good job

Good question!!

>I'm not real sure what to do with them. I think art is the exact description. I don't see them really holding much (although they certainly could).

Maybe something will come to me through inspiration.

>Very nice. Together they look like one of the winter cabbage flowers. On a bed of a few branches and dried flowers they'd look particularly "arty".
