Inlace question

Sue McLam, Orange, VT

>I made a plate yesterday that had some bark inclusions in it. I also put walnut oil on it. Today I'm wishing that I'd filled the cracks around the bark inclusions with some inlace. Can I do that now even with the walnut oil already applied? If it makes a difference, it's Mahoney's walnut oil which is supposed to harden.

Thanks

Sue

Can't say for sure because I haven't applied Inlace to that finish. However the mechanical bond should be pretty good as long as the finish is dry. I would think that the Inlace would attach itself to all of the protrusions in the crack and be quite strong even if it didn't stick to the Walnut oil.

>Thanks John...I'll give it a try. I've got another piece that I'm working on that I've specifically designed to have inlace in it so while I have some mixed up I'll toss some in my bark inclusions.
