Question on my Jet 1442

Jim R

>I recently acquired a jet 1442 which is really nice compared to what I had. One problem. When turning bowls, small ones anyway, the speed adjustment handle gets in the way of the tool when I work on the back of the bowl near the faceplate. I can get the tool rest positioned ok but the speed handle location(on high speed) prevents me from getting in near the faceplate.

Anyone else have this problem, if so, what is the answer? Is it possible to reposition the speed handle to where it is turned down instead of up.

Thanks for any suggestions

I turn the bottom...

>Yes, there was a thread on this forum that explained exactly how to reposition the speed lever. Do a search.
