Looky what I got!

Bill Grumbine, Kutztown PA

>Good afternoon all

Today I was transporting my youngest daughter to Grandma and Grandpa for a few days of visitation, and on the way home I stopped by my tree guy friend. He was holding this one for me along with a truckload of English walnut and apricot. This is black birch according to my friend.

I'm going to have to think about this one for a while, although I do have some ideas. It took two of us to get it in the truck. Overall size is approximately 28" long and 18" -20" in diameter!

A note on picture quality. This was taken with my Maxwell Smart camera phone, which I picked up last week. Now, I had no intention of ever getting a phone with a camera in it, but the credit I had coming to me to buy a phone was equal to the cost of this particular machine, so I thought, why not? One never knows when one might need to photograph a burl to taunt his turning buddies!

>Boy what a bunch of old TV rerun fogies around here! I loved that show when I was a kid, and it is still funny. This may turn into the mother of winged bowls, with a couple of smaller ones to boot.

Kurt, I have not even had a chance to check those burls out yet, but thanks for reminding me! I will be in touch.

I haven't seen an episode of Get Smart is probably 25 years or so. Sure enjoyed that show.
