Acknowledge Replies to Posts

Wally Dickerman at Green Valley, Az.

>Most WC'ers are good about acknowledging replies to questions posted here, but some are not. When a question is asked and many replies are posted, and sometimes they are lengthy and detailed, an acknowledgement and a "thank you" should be given. The person giving the reply has no way of knowing if their answer was helpful, of if it was even received.

Besides it's just common courtesy. That's my opinion.

Why is it that common sense is elusive as a stable spalted amboyna burl?

>I am one of those "bad" WC'ers who sometimes does and sometimes doesn't, but my reason has nothing to do with courtesy. A note of thanks gives some indication of closure implying that you won't be back to read any additional replies. If it is a question that has an explicit answer, that's one thing. But if I am looking for opinions and alternatives, I don't want to give the appearance of closing the thread. As the consensus seems to be that this is discourteous, I will be more careful to respond in the future.
