>Well, I wasn't one of the ones you are referring to, however, for our Anniversary, my wife gave me a week long class with David at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, CO last September. All I can say is it was great!! There were seven of us and David made sure we all had any individual attention we required. He is a true gentleman and his class was terrific. He's an "easy", but thorough instructor and his methods are virtually foolproof - although there's so much covered in the week, I had to assimilate all that I learned after returning home. His "single tool" (gouge) from beginning to end is a terrific concept and it does work exceptionally well. To me it was more than worth the time and money!!

Had a truly great time. Was a bit impaired due to a previous hand injury, but spending 3 days in David's studio is a treat not to be missed if at all possible.
The truly tough part is trying to wipe your slate clean and allowing him to overwrite your misconceptions and bad habits. Do that, and you'll leave immensly richer than when you arrived.
Sorry, no pix, but the pieces are still drying.

>When I first bought my ellsworth gouge and sharpening jig I couldn't quite get the jig setup right. So I typed in David Ellsworth to google, and got his phone number. I called him on the phone and he walked me through the whole process. Not bad for someone who really doesn't have to help.

>Mark -- does this mean we'll be seeing green turned SINGLE PIECE vessels from your shop soon ? Just imagine ... no miter sleds, no glue, no more dry wood ... come on over to the dark side ! ;)

>some of the stuff I've posted since my first go-round at David's last January. This was actually a "go-back-and-get-what-you-missed" kind of thing. Had no idea how much I missed.
Of course, if I knew what I'd missed, I wouldn't have missed it, right?
